SEOmoz’s Web 2.0 Awards

The SEOmoz’s Web 2.0 Awards were announced in March (so yeah i’m a bit off the ball) and i’ve just stumbled across the results. There are some interesting and very tastefully designed applications out there. I think it’s going to take me a while to have a look at all of the winners and honourable mentions.

I’ve recently been looking for some kind of collaboration software what I could use for our intranet services here at the office, sharing of calendars, documents, that kind of thing. If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to throw something into the comments, it’ll be much appreciated.

When you find that software, let me know, too. All of the open source candidates I know of have the worst UI every created - needlessly overcomplicated. Copper (http::/copperproject.com) looks pretty nice, although apart from being a commercial product, it doesn’t have any Ajax, which is something I would expect in software like this.

I know what you’re saying! They’re all a bit naff on the UI front. I’ve just been having a play with basecamp as they offer a free plan which would almost cover what I want to do. We’d have to pay for the file-sharing.

What i’d really like is some software I can install on our own servers and be able to tweak so I can tie it into our other systems.
