Black Mountain arrives

The latest Live album Songs From Black Mountain has just hit my doormat.

Live - Songs from Black Mountain

This album is one of their best to date, from my point of view and as a very long time fan (hell, I even have the Four Songs EP and Death of a Dictionary). It’s almost on a par with Throwing Copper, but they’ll always struggle to top ‘Lightning Crashes’.

Highly recommended, A*

Good to know, since I haven’t been following Live since college. Mental Jewelry is a staple in my travelling CD collection.

The band actually hails from around my area. I used to date a girl who would go see them play in a club every Saturday night before they got big. When I finally saw them in concert, it was a big event for them because it was the first time they had played in the venue that they themselves had seen their big band concerts in.

They’re really down to earth people, i’ve met them a few times and they always take the time to talk. You don’t get a lot of that these days (well from what you see in the media), the bands these days seem to forget where they came from.

    I’ll always be a fan.
