Richard Hammond Accident

Just picked up on the of Richard Hammond’s crash during filming for the next season of Top Gear.

Richard Hammond

The latest is that he’s in a “stable” condition at Leeds Hospital. An hour or so ago his status was deemed ‘Critical’ so hopefully the step down is a good sign. I’ve been a fan of Top Gear for a long time, and I hope he pulls through.

Damn shock….

Update: Hammond’s condition now ’stable’. Phew, good !

I’m just kinda wondering what is going to happen with the next series of Top Gear, will they change the scheduling? I’m sure would still want the show to go out as normal.

Fingers crossed that he’ll be OK.

I’m not normally bothered about “celebrities”, but like you, I really enjoy Top Gear, and hope that the full team will be back soon.

Apparently the next series is early October, so they haven’t long to decide what they do next.

Hopefully this might mean a few less stunts in the show, and a few more head to head reviews. I’d far rather see the three guys comparing similar cars on some exciting driving odyssey, instead of seeing how many caravans they can jump in a jet powered motorhome. They need to keep the used car segnments though - I love the cheap Porsches and cheap Italian Supercars.

As an aside, James May has a new series soon that I think you’ll like - “Oz & James Big Wine Adventure”. Should be fun, although the temptation to drink while watching it may be too great to resist.

I know what you mean, I just don’t care about celebs. But the top gear team are like friends you’d go for a drink with.

I’d heard the next season was October so fingers crossed it’ll still be running. And I like the caravan explosions, and stupid £1000 challenges :)

i hope richard pulls through, i dont really care much about ‘celebs’ but i agree with steven…. these guys are like your local ‘go for a drink and have a laugh with’ type.

I met Richard Hamond on the set of Top Gear last year and he is a decent chap. when you watch top gear like myself when its on bbc and then repeatedly on uktv, i was shocked to hear his condition was critical after the crash, now with the news of the “brain injury” i hope there is no long term damage.

  9. Stephen Says:

Well he’s been moved out of intensive care now and his condition is being described as ’stable’ instead of ’serious but stable’ - sounds hopeful. Apparently Clarkson got a smile out of him by criticising his driving skills :)

  10. Michał Says:
