SEOmoz’s Web 2.0 Awards

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

The SEOmoz’s Web 2.0 Awards were announced in March (so yeah i’m a bit off the ball) and i’ve just stumbled across the results. There are some interesting and very tastefully designed applications out there. I think it’s going to take me a while to have a look at all of the winners and honourable mentions.

I’ve recently been looking for some kind of collaboration what I could use for our intranet services here at the office, sharing of calendars, documents, that kind of thing. If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to throw something into the comments, it’ll be much appreciated.

Take a peek at the new ajaxified Amazon Book Reader, it’s a mightly beautifully looking bit of code. I really wish I could something like this up and running for the backoffice of our site at work, it would surely make some tasks a hell of a lot easier.

Snap, another contender for the crown?

Snap

I’m not really sure tbh. This site is wrapped up in lots of goodness (always interesting) but for that do you really get a quick experience? I say not really.

The feels quite clunky to me, I like the screen shots and the general prompting for keywords but I really like the cleanliness of Google. For me, , should just give me a list as quick as possible and let me do the rest.

60 More AJAX Tutorials

Max Kiesler has posted up 60 More AJAX Tutorials.

I can’t get enough of this stuff, the more the better. It’s coming in really useful for cool features in our site backoffice, can really help with those downright awful, repetative admin tasks, and gives a more pleasant desktop app feel for the user.
