FAC president assaulted at Ryerson

Friday, March 30th, 2007

Just stumbled across a story about the Freethought Association of Canada president being assaulted at Ryerson University.

Why is it always those who are ‘religious’ and preach for peace who are the ones who resort to the lowest levels to defend their ‘religious ideals’? It worries me a lot. It’s not as if the guy is trying to push an ideal onto some other individual in the same way as religious individuals do towards atheists. He’s just trying to push the idea that hey maybe you should at least be allowed to question .

When was the last time an atheist nation/person started a war?

The Official God FAQ

Question: “Is there a ?

Answer: “No.

In the quite unlikely event that you were to discover any omissions or inaccuracies on this page, they may be reported to the international headquarters of The Official FAQ, at aod@400monkeys.com, where they will be thoroughly investigated, submitted to rigorous scientific testing and, if substantiated, included in a subsequent update. Thank you.

Fits in nicely with my current favourite read, The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. I highly recommend it.

Richard Dawkins Q&A session

Monday, December 4th, 2006

The Independent has a very decent Q and A session with Richard Dawkins. Questions all posed by readers. His answers as usual, precise. A very good read. One of my favourites is

Are people who advocate intelligent design stupid, and do you think natural selection will operate to remove them from future generations? ADAM KHAN, The Hague, Netherlands

The majority are ignorant, which is not the same thing as stupid. Natural selection will not remove ignorance from future generations. Education may, and that is the hope to which we must cling.

Hopefully some of the creationists might taken notice one day. It’s a scary thought that it’s being taught in the UK now, very scary in fact. You may as well read a Smurf book and claim they were part of our ancestry.
