Title of Harry Potter 7 revealed

Thursday, December 21st, 2006

Author JK Rowling has revealed the title of the seventh and final Harry Potter book.

It will be called Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The announcement was made on the writer’s official website.

Really looking forward to reading this. As the title is now known I suppose I should get a pre-order on Amazon, they’ll be flying straight off the shelves.

Current Read

Tuesday, October 17th, 2006

I’ve been a regular user of our local public library for a couple of months now. I’m really enjoying the fact that I can get some decent to read and not have to cough up any cash to do so. (cheapskate, I know!) But hey I pay my taxes so I should at least get some free entertainment in return.

The last few borrowings have been by Mark Billingham.

They all revolve around the career of DI Tom Thorne, a typically miserable and unconventional copper. I was hooked from the first book I read. They’re a great read, even if like me, you’re reading them in reverse chronological order (one of the down sides of public libraries, I have to take whats there).

Scared To Live

Tuesday, June 13th, 2006

Sorry, that wasn’t a statement :)

Scared To Live has just hit my doormat.

As mentioned previously, I’m a big Stephen Booth fan. I’ve tucked straight in this morning as I’ve been book-less for a day or two. It’s gonna be fun heaving the hardback around with me but I couldn’t wait till next year for the paperback !

I’ve read chapter 1 and i’m enthralled…

Reading #1

Wednesday, June 7th, 2006

Over recent months/years i’ve become an avid reader of the Stephen Booth novels. They all revolve around the lives and careers of detectives Ben Cooper and Diane Fry, in and about the Derbyshire Peak District. The stories are well thought out, intricate and thrilling. I was never really a fan of fiction until I came across this author, the closest I’d come was to the ‘Touch of Frost’ series on tv (based on the novels by R.D.Wingfield)

The go as follow:

I’ve not yet read Scared To Live, I can’t wait !

The DaVinci Code

Took out a few hours this morning to go see The DaVinci Code. I’ve not the read the book and i’ve not really been too bothered by all of the hype that’s followed it so I was just going to waste a bit of time and with no expectations either way.
