MIT Sketching Tool

If this is not the future of , I don’t know what is!

This is such a cool and innovative way of designing, and it looks a hell of a lot of fun too. I imagine the example ‘building blocks’ shown are only a small subset of all the possible parts available. Probably includes different materials too, liquids, pulleys, who knows!

I wonder if something like this is available for public consumption? Any offers?

Blog Reboot

Tuesday, November 7th, 2006

Thought it was about time for a spot of updating. A quick of the blog, new style based on a nice theme called Brajeshwar v7 and an update of Wordpress to the latest version (v2.0.5).

As per usual under these circumstances, it’s highly likely that I’ve forgotten to patch something, missed a plugin or generally cocked up the , so do throw a comment or suggestion if you spot anything.

Hope everyone likes it :)

Image Grid

Tuesday, July 18th, 2006

Christian has stumbled across an interesting technique for laying out your site. Using a Background Image Grid behind your site you can all your elements, images etc with pixel perfection. Should be mightly useful when dealing with IE and trying to work out why that div has decided to jump out of place.

Great find, I’ll be using this immediately I should think !

Slashdot, css style

Tuesday, June 6th, 2006

I’ve just popped over to Slashdot and noticed that they’ve moved over to the new format that resulted from their restyling competition.

I have to say that I really like it. Yes I know, it is exactly the same as the old style but hey why change something if it’s established, heck it’s almost a trademark for . We could all describe the style and to anyone without a seconds thought.

The fact that is still going strong is something that pleases me a lot, especially when it is up against the digg’s and newsvines and all their high tech wizardry. With ’s hand picked, quality assured posts you at least know you’re not going to have to wade through a page of manure before finding something interesting/intellectual and fascinating to read.

SEOmoz’s Web 2.0 Awards

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

The SEOmoz’s Web 2.0 Awards were announced in March (so yeah i’m a bit off the ball) and i’ve just stumbled across the results. There are some interesting and very tastefully designed applications out there. I think it’s going to take me a while to have a look at all of the winners and honourable mentions.

I’ve recently been looking for some kind of collaboration what I could use for our intranet services here at the office, sharing of calendars, documents, that kind of thing. If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to throw something into the comments, it’ll be much appreciated.

Thursday, May 25th, 2006

I’ve tried to throw a bit more interest into the by bringing back my favourite piece of flint. Hopefully it adds just a little bit of decoration to the void-ness of the page.
