Hot Fuzz

Monday, December 4th, 2006

Simon Pegg has a new film, Hot Fuzz, it’s definitely on my list. A trailer is available. The ’shortcut’ clip is quite funny.

Top London cop, Police Constable Nicholas Angel, finds himself reassigned to the sleepy West Country village of Sandford. With garden fetes and neighbourhood watch meetings replacing the action of the city, Angel struggles to adapt to his situation and finds himself partnered with Danny Butterman, an oafish but well meaning young Constable. Just as all seems lost, a series of grisly accidents motivates Angel into action. Convinced of foul play, Angel realises that Sandford may not be as idyllic as it seems.

…on the downside there is a lot of crap at the cinema too

‘Cars’

Thursday, June 8th, 2006

Just been checking out the for the new ‘Cars’. Looks fantastic, as any good generally does. Some talent folks over there!

One thing that sparked my interested while watching the was the plot similarity to Doc Hollywood. The premise being a big shot, city type gets stuck in backwater America and learns a few heartfelt truths, whilst falling for a local girl.

Anyone else notice that?

The Wicker Man

Thursday, June 8th, 2006

Why, oh why does Hollywood insist on remaking old films?

Now it’s the classic The Wicker Man.

Why can’t they leave well alone? These films were great the first time around, Pyscho, Planet of the Apes, etc. They can’t be improved on you’re just turning it into a vehicle for some actor to make more cash than they need.
