Warning over vodka snorting fad

Wednesday, November 8th, 2006

BBC is reporting on a warning over vodka snorting fad.

Bar staff said some people were “in tears” after trying the trend, while others reacted so quickly they were seen falling to the floor as a result of snorting the alcohol.

“It will get you drunk more quickly than drinking vodka, which of course is why some people do it but over time it will damage your nose.

Some people are just a tad stupid, I mean I wouldn’t go to the pub and think about snorting a pint of Boddy’s?!?!

Project Blackbox

17.October.2006 - After today, you’ll never look at an ordinary shipping container quite the same way again. Project Blackbox is a prototype of the world’s first virtualized –built into a shipping container and optimized to deliver extreme energy, space, and performance efficiencies.

How neat is this idea! A complete ready to ship anywhere, just drop it on site and add power and connectivity and you’re up and running!

I bet it’s not cheap :)

Filming resumes on Top Gear show

Thursday, October 5th, 2006

Filming resumes on Top Gear show.

Great ! It does stipulate that the show may not be broadcast even if they record it. seems happy that it’s up and running again though.

Why do people want to cancel the show, because someone was hurt? bloody HSE wrapping everyone in cotton wool. If no one takes any chances in this life what is the point of being alive. If some homo-sapien had decided millions of years ago to not venture from his warm cave because it was ‘a bit scary out there’ we might not even be here.

Take some risks !

Richard Hammond Accident

Wednesday, September 20th, 2006

Just picked up on the of Richard Hammond’s crash during filming for the next season of Top Gear.

Richard Hammond

The latest is that he’s in a “stable” condition at Leeds Hospital. An hour or so ago his status was deemed ‘Critical’ so hopefully the step down is a good sign. I’ve been a fan of Top Gear for a long time, and I hope he pulls through.

Damn shock….

Update: Hammond’s condition now ’stable’. Phew, good !

I’m just kinda wondering what is going to happen with the next series of Top Gear, will they change the scheduling? I’m sure would still want the show to go out as normal.

Gatwick lets no-ticket/no-passport 12-year-old onto a plane

Gatwick lets no-ticket/no-passport 12-year-old onto a plane

To fool such a system, it takes a 12-year-old boy, as reported by newspaper FAZ (in German). He managed to get onboard a plane at Gatwick airport in London (at the origin city of the planned attacks) during the ongoing high-alert phase — without even possessing a passport of ticket!

I’m not too surprised really, we came back from Florida on Friday and we were made to dump all our liquids and gels from our hand luggage. One of our party had inadvertently left a bottle of perfume in her bag, she went through 3 bag screenings and they didn’t spot it, she found it herself when we landed!

Let’s face it, how much checking can you do?
